What is The 100?

The 100 is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama that was produced by The CW and posted weekly to Netflix. The name of the series originates from the hundred teenage delinquents that were sent to Earth by the leaders of the Ark to see if Earth was survivable. Some of the main teenage characters are Clarke, Bellamy, Octavia, Raven, Finn, Monty and Jasper. Other important characters in this series are Abby, Kane and Jaha, who are in governing positions on the Ark. Throughout the series, these characters face a multitude of challenges, such as natural disasters, war, cult-like clans, and a dangerous form of artificial intelligence.
If you have never seen The 100 before, I highly recommend watching this video from YouTube. It sums up the first 6 seasons of the series in 6 minutes and touches on all of the topics and examples that will be on my website.
Religion & The 100
There are many religious references in this series, which is interesting as it is a science-based show. As a post-apocalyptic world and society, the religious references from the pre-apocalyptic world have remained the same, although they may have been presented in a different form. On this website, I will go into detail on these religious references and how they have been presented to the characters, as well as discuss the implications of science vs. religion.

As much as I would love to discuss every religious reference in this series, there are too many to be able to do so and do each reference justice. For that reason, the main themes I will analyze are good vs evil, sacrifice, believing a higher power, as well as Noah's Ark and how the Ark is a direct symbol of this.
